Speaker: Ted Czech, Public Information Officer for the York County Office of Emergency Management and York County 911
Ted Czech will share his firsthand experiences serving as a public information officer during two separate 2025 York County shootings—among the most tragic incidents in the region’s recent history—in which four law enforcement officers were killed and several others injured. Drawing on these critical events, he will explore the challenges of delivering accurate, timely information under intense public scrutiny, managing media relationships during a crisis, and maintaining transparency while supporting affected families, agencies, and the broader community.
In addition, Ted will discuss the response to the J&K Salvage oil spill, including his role within the Joint Information Center and the coordinated communication efforts required during that environmental emergency.
