Welcoming. Insightful. Valuable.
These words swirl around my mind when I think of what I want PPRS to be for our membership.
I don’t know about you, but I initially came to PPRS for the programming but stayed for the welcoming people. Friendly faces, mentors, and leaders in our field all come together on the fourth Thursday of the month, beyond excited to share their advice or warn of potential pitfalls.
That being said, our programming is practical and notable. Many of our impressive PPRS members have honed their skills through insightful presentations and panels at our meetings through the years. As the role of PR pros continues to expand, we’re looking to our Member Feedback Survey results to identify in-demand topics and skill sets for our industry.
Most of all, I want you to feel appreciated as a member and in turn, receive valuable experiences. We are truly grateful you’ve stuck with us through a global pandemic, and we’re excited to keep nudging ever closer to a post-pandemic world.
So what should you expect in 2023?
The Return of the Fourth Thursday Evening Schedule
It may not be possible every month, but our feedback survey clearly shows you like a predictable schedule (no surprise with a room full of planners!). It’s our goal to keep as many meetings as we can to the fourth Thursday of the month dinner meeting schedule.
Reengaging Our Membership
Too many familiar faces have been missing since the return to in-person meetings. I want you to come back! I know so many of us are over-committed with family, work and personal obligations, but I sure hope to see your faces again in 2023.
Keeping Costs Accessible
Since so many of us are event planners by trade, I’m not breaking any news by sharing that venue costs are dramatically higher in a post-COVID world. Many establishments that were once regulars in the PPRS rotation are out of reach for our monthly meetings. We are cognizant of costs and promise to make an effort to balance costs with our monthly offerings. This may look like returning to a great venue during the year, or a menu that may be simpler than usual due to limitations around venues and caterers.
I’m truly excited to kick off another wonderful year of programming, networking and camaraderie.
Cheers,
Keri
