As we prepare to celebrate our 75th anniversary in 2025, this year’s PPRS leadership team has determined that new member recruitment MUST be a top priority for ALL MEMBERS this year. There is no easy way to put it. Between the pandemic, retirements, and a large number of people shifting to working remotely, it has been harder and harder to engage our current members and recruit new ones.
We have come up with a fairly straightforward, but we hope effective plan, to start changing the tide. We need every single one of you embrace this challenge so our wonderful organization can survive another 75 years.
2024 PPRS Membership Recruitment Plan
Modernize and Streamline Membership Application – Completed
- Streamline the online membership application to make it easier and faster to apply for membership.
- Change “sponsor” to “referred by” on the membership application.
Invest Where Our Members are Active – In Progress
- Refocus our social media efforts on LinkedIn because that is where the PR professionals can be found and are connecting.
- Create and execute a branded membership campaign on LinkedIn by building and boosting special posts focused on joining PPRS.
Connect with the Future Generation – In Progress
- Create/Update the college contact list previously used to send out scholarship information. Send the contacts information on our new student membership level and our new student meeting reimbursement program.
Bylaws Update to Create Young Professional Membership – In Review
- As we examine updates to our bylaws, we will put forth a recommendation to create a Young Professional membership level to encourage new recruitment.
Membership Recruitment Challenge – NEW!
- Announce and track the results of the Membership Recruitment Challenge.
- PPRS members are encouraged to make an extra effort to recruit new members.
- For every 3 new members a current PPRS member brings in, they will receive 1 entry.
- All entries will be placed into a drawing for a FREE year of membership in 2025 ($100 value).
- For every 10 new members (collectively), 1 FREE year of membership will be drawn.
- 10 new members = (1) 1 FREE year of membership
- 20 new members = (2) 1 FREE year of membership
- 30 new members = (3) 1 FREE year of membership
- 40 new members = (4) 1 FREE year of membership
- 50 new members = (5) 1 FREE year of membership
