At last month’s PPRS meeting, I was absolutely delighted by the number of students in attendance.Nearly ten students were in attendance between Messiah University and Shippensburg University!
As a former student who attended PPRS meetings, I remember how terrifying it was – REAL
professionals? NETWORKING? But once I walked through the doors, I was met with eager PPRS members who wanted to learn about my interests and guide me on my professional journey. Many of those professionals still attend meetings and I’m lucky to call mentors and friends.
In addition to supporting students through networking and mentorship, we now have TWO scholarship opportunities for Pennsylvania higher education students. Both scholarships allow PPRS to impact a student’s life and reward them for their interest in a future in
public relations. I can’t wait to see what this year’s scholarship applications bring!
Applications for the PPRS Scholarship and Kenneth G. Robinson, APR Memorial Scholarship are both due Wednesday, March 15. Please share both opportunities with students you know who may be interested. If you have any questions, please email Nance McCown at PPRSScholarship@gmail.com.
