
The Pennsylvania Public Relations Society (PPRS) proudly announces Leslie Gervasio as the 2025 recipient of the prestigious Ernest R. McDowell Award for Excellence in Public Relations. The award, presented annually since 1991, recognizes individuals who demonstrate a strong commitment to the profession, active community involvement, and unparalleled support of PPRS.
Gervasio has more than 20 years of experience in state and local government communications. As Director of Communications for the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, Gervasio manages and directs the agency’s internal and external communication strategies, including high-impact public awareness campaigns such as the rollout of Open Road Tolling and Go Orange Work Zone Safety Awareness.
While serving as PPRS President and Secretary, she simultaneously served as President of the National Association of Government Communicators. Beyond her professional achievements, she is a passionate advocate for animal welfare initiatives and actively participates in a variety of community-focused activities close to home and nationally.
