I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to each of you who took the time to complete the membership survey and/or attend one of the two Caffeinated Connections sessions in February. I was inspired by the wealth of ideas shared and the passion each of you exudes for this organization.
Whether you are a veteran member or have recently joined our organization, it’s easy to see that you value PPRS personally and professionally. As we near our 75th anniversary – one thing is clear – this group wants to ensure that the next generation of PR pros has the same PPRS network we’ve all embraced for the past 75 years. So that’s where I need all of you to dig in with me and keep our shared vision a reality.
We are looking to fill several volunteer roles, including (but not limited to!):
- Programming – (Up to three people to help plan monthly educational and networking events)
- Evening of Honors – event planning and nomination process (Up to four people)
- Sponsorship procurement for monthly programming, Joint Winter and Summer Socials, and Evening of Honors
- Executive Committee (a great opportunity to strengthen your leadership skills and lead the organization.)
- Membership Recruitment – identify ways to recruit new members
- Hourly Support – Only have a few hours a month? No problem! There are still ways you can help, including contacting lapsed members about rejoining or researching and contacting venues to host our events.
I’d also like to sincerely thank past presidents who’ve stepped up to help create a celebratory plan for our 75th anniversary next year!
Are you interested in giving back to PPRS? Let’s talk. Please email me at pprshbg@gmail.com so I can answer your questions. Let’s channel the enthusiasm from the Caffeinated Connections sessions into action!
Sincerely,
Leslie Gervasio
