At the sold-out February PPRS event, we announced the first-ever PPRS matching gift challenge. PPRS members Lori Baker Pizzarro and Roger Baumgarten challenged members to give generously to the Ken Robinson Memorial Scholarship, and they promised to match the donations up to $1,000.
The results? Drumroll, please! 🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁
PPRS members rose to the challenge donated just over $1,000 during the four-day campaign, leading to the fulfillment of the matching fund donation as well!
Thank you to Lori and Roger for their generous matching gifts, which now put us more than halfway to our goal! We’ve raised more than $5,000 of the $10,000 needed to begin distributing the funds to worthy students. We can’t stop now!
In related news, the long-standing annual PPRS scholarship is now open for 2022 applications! All applicants must be full-time communications and/or public relations students, a rising junior or senior, and a PA resident. The deadline for applications is quickly approaching, so read more here and share with the PR students in your life!
We’ve had such a strong showing of students at our first two events of the year. That, paired with the momentum around fundraising for the Ken Robinson scholarship and the opening of our 2022 annual scholarship, all point to a bright future for PPRS and our industry!
