Friends and fellow Pennsylvanians,
This month our Commonwealth and the nation have been rocked by the rapid spread of the COVID-19 virus and subsequent directives from the state and federal government. As the situation evolves, PPRS will continue to update our response strategy.
You are probably aware that we transitioned our March 26 meeting to a virtual format. Given the intense pressure of many of our roles in this crisis and the likely disruption of schedules, we plan to make a video recording of the digital meeting available for registered individuals to watch at their convenience. At this time, we do not plan to hold a vote on the candidates for membership at the March meeting.
Although I can’t tell you what next month, next week or even tomorrow will bring, I can promise you that PPRS will continue to be proactive and forward-thinking in an attempt to ensure the safety of our members and supporters in the wake of this pandemic.
Please feel encouraged to use resources like the PPRS Facebook group or page to ask questions of or share solutions with your fellow communications professionals. If there are other ways PPRS can support you during this time, we are very open to suggestions. Please email me directly at simpson.carolyn.m@gmail.com.
My thoughts are with all of you, especially those supporting vital functions in the healthcare industry. May you and your families all stay healthy in this unprecedented time.
Thank you,
Carolyn
2020 PPRS President
