During the Evening of Honors in November at the Susquehanna Club, public relations veteran Jason Kirsch, APR, was presented with the Ernest R. McDowell Award for Excellence in Public Relations.
Established in 1991, the McDowell Award recognizes an individual for sustained excellence in the field of public relations. It is presented annually at the PPRS Evening of Honors in memory of the late senior vice president of Marketing and Corporate relations with Capital (now UPMC Pinnacle) Health System, Ernest R. McDowell, who set the standard for professionalism and community service with his good works and lifetime example.
This year’s honoree is Jason Kirsch, APR, a well-accomplished and highly respected senior level public relations professional with experience in strategic planning, building brands, leading campaigns and providing communications counsel including leadership roles at Capital BlueCross, Metro Bank and PR Works. Jason also holds the Accredited in Public Relations (APR) credential through the Public Relations Society of America and is an instructor for the APR program nationally.
In his introductory remarks, Bob Saline described his journey with Jason over decades of work in public relations and communications.
We thank our sponsors for the Evening of Honors and Roger Baumgarten, owner of Roger That Photography, for allowing us to use his photos from the evening.
