September 30, 2010

Radisson Penn Harris Hotel, Camp Hill, PA

Join us for a special program to kick off Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Program Sponsors: Highmark Blue Shield, Pennsylvania Health Care Association, PinnacleHealth

Please join us as we host Leigh Hurst, a Middletown native and founder of Feel Your Boobies, for the last regular PPRS meeting of 2010.

Feel Your Boobies ( was founded in 2004 after Leigh was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 33. A movement that originally started as 100 fun t-shirts she designed to remind her friends to “feel their boobies” to detect breast cancer has evolved into a successful non-profit foundation and international campaign focused on spreading this message to young women.

The campaign and its founder have been featured everywhere from the New York Times and New York Post to Women’s Health Magazine and US Weekly. Locally, Leigh was also named to the Central Penn Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 list.

Leigh will present the Feel Your Boobies campaign with a focus on the use of media for motivational and educational purposes. She will discuss the guiding principles of the campaign and the role of media (especially social media), as well as the challenges she encountered in the growth of the Foundation and its mission.
